Police earlier this month arrested a 24-year-old Palestinian woman suspected of espionage for Iran, Channel 12 news reports.
The suspect, a resident of Beit Ummar in the southern West Bank, was arrested August 6 by police operating off intelligence from the Shin Bet and IDF, according to the outlet.
A law enforcement official contacted by The Times of Israel declines to detail the suspicions against the alleged spy at this stage of the investigation. The Shin Bet has not yet responded to a request for comment regarding the case.
According to Channel 12, the suspect confessed to some of the suspicions against her during a lengthy interrogation, in which she detailed her contact with an Iranian agent and described missions she carried out on his behalf.
A military court has requested that police present additional evidence to substantiate the claims against the suspect, and thus decided to extend her detention by another eight days to allow officers to continue their investigation.
