A group of 30 Palestinians and left-wing activists clashed with the IDF in Hebron Sunday, leading to the arrest of three of them. The group had taken over a house, referred to as “the Doctor’s house,” ostensibly belonging to a Jewish group.

Security forces told the activists to leave the house, but the group refused, leading to the arrests. The army declared the area a closed military zone.

The group barricaded themselves in the house to protest Jewish settlers moving into another house in Hebron, referred to as Beit Hamachpela, last Thursday.

Issa Amer, one of the Palestinian activists, said the house was rented to them by law. “We entered the house to show the double standard of Israeli law,” said Amer, according to Yedioth Ahronoth. “We are only leaving if there is a court order,” he added.

A large gathering of Jewish settlers then formed outside the house. Police separated the two groups.
