A mother and daughter were shot dead on Tuesday night in their car near the central city of Ramle.

The women were identified as Nariman Mugrabi, 50, and Sondos Shemroch, 28, the Hebrew-language Ynet website reported.

A suspect in his 20s, a resident of the city, was arrested later in the evening. He was expected to be brought before the Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for a remand hearing.

The two women were found in their car close to Route 40. Both victims had multiple upper body wounds and MDA medics who were called to the scene pronounced them dead.

According to the Hebrew-language Walla website, investigators believe the women may have been killed as part of a feud between local families over a relationship between family members.
