Northern District police discovered an extensive weapons arsenal hidden in a school and other places in the Galilee village of Abu Sinan on Tuesday.
The weapons were concealed in several locations in the village, including in a kindergarten and a drainage ditch. The cache included rockets, grenades, explosives, detonators, RPGs and hundreds of bullets.
Authorities confiscated and destroyed the weapons. Police believe the arsenal was intended for use by crime families in the north, and not for terrorist activity. One arrest was made during the operation.
This was the second such discovery in Abu Sinan this year. In January, police found a similar store of grenades, bombs and ammunition while raiding the compound of a suspected crime family.
