2 perpetrators of West Bank terror attack named as Palestinian Authority police officers
The two perpetrators of the shooting attack in Gush Etzion were Palestinian cops who served in the Palestinian Authority’s police force, The Times of Israel has learned. The two were in their early 20s and had completed their training only a few months ago.
They carried out a combined stabbing and shooting attack that killed an Israeli security guard, and were shot dead at the scene.
They are named by Palestinian media as Mahmoud Abed, 23, from Halhul, and Malik Salem, 23, from Tulkarem.
Neither had any security background nor were previously detained by Israel, a defense official says.
