Despite PM’s announcement, his office says Israel not sending delegation to Doha or Cairo for now

Nava Freiberg is The Times of Israel's deputy diplomatic correspondent.

There are no plans “at this stage” to send an Israeli delegation to Qatar or Egypt for talks on a ceasefire and hostage-release deal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office tells The Times of Israel, following the premier’s announcement that he “instructed to begin immediate negotiations” for the release of all the hostages in Gaza and an end to the war on Israel’s terms.

Netanyahu didn’t say to whom he had given the order and again avoided commenting on whether Israel would accept the proposal for a phased hostage release deal that Hamas accepted on Monday.
