Future Iranian cooperation with IAEA depends on agency fixing ‘double standards,’ Pezeshkian says

Continued Iranian cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency depends on the IAEA “correcting its double standards regarding Iran’s nuclear file,” Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian tells the European Council’s president, according to state media.

He further claims that the nuclear watchdog’s credibility has been harmed by its “failure to respect impartiality.”

The Iranian parliament passed a law suspending cooperation with the IAEA in the wake of its war with Israel, accusing the agency of paving the way for Israel’s operation by issuing a damning report on May 31 that led to a resolution by the IAEA’s 35-nation Board of Governors declaring Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations.

Pezeshkian also says that Iran’s response to any further “aggression” will be “more decisive and regrettable.”
