The IDF says it conducted pre-planned military drills in the northern and southern West Bank this week, simulating the defense of settlements and other scenarios.

The exercises were carried out by the Menashe and Judea regional brigades, responsible for the Jenin and Hebron areas, respectively.

The troops in their respective areas “practiced a variety of complex extreme scenarios,” the army says, including “scenarios involving the defense of communities… to examine the forces’ readiness and their ability to provide a rapid and effective response to multiple incidents simultaneously.”

The drill also involved cooperating with local civilian authorities, the police, Magen David Adom, fire service, and other rescue organizations, according to the army.
