Lebanese President Joseph Aoun calls on the international community to intervene firmly to stop Israeli attacks on the country after a deadly strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Israel has said that the strike targeted the Hezbollah terror group’s chief of staff.

In a statement, Aoun says Lebanon “reiterates its call to the international community to assume its responsibility and intervene firmly and seriously to stop the attacks on Lebanon and its people.”

The strike in Beirut killed at least one person and wounded 21 more, Lebanon’s health ministry says.
