Police say probe underway after cop seen stomping on Haredi protester’s head

The Israel Police say a cop “likely” acted out of line when she stomped on the head of a Haredi protester yesterday.

The incident occurred during an ultra-Orthodox protest against drafting community members to the military, in which some blocked Highway 4 in central Israel.

A border policewoman is seen kicking a demonstrator who lies down on the floor in front of her, before she walks on.

“The video shows a border cop during a protest in Bnei Brak that was declared illegal and against which a dispersal order had been issued,” police say, according to Channel 12 news. “Her action, as seen in the clip, likely deviates from the values and protocols of the organization. Accordingly, the incident has been handed to the authorized officials for examination.”
