Qatari channel Al-Araby reports that Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani is set to visit Cairo today for a meeting with Hamas negotiators.
According to the network, a Hamas delegation, which has been in Cairo for talks since last week, has received a new ceasefire proposal from international mediators and is being asked to provide a response today.
The talks have been mediated by Qatar, Egypt and the United States, with Turkey involved in brokering their resumption last week.
Hamas has not officially commented on the reports.
According to Saudi channel Al-Arabiya, the new proposal represents a compromise between a partial ceasefire deal and an agreement fully ending the war and releasing all hostages, which Israel is now demanding. The proposal reportedly includes clauses amending Hamas’s response to the last proposal, which had dealt with a framework agreement for a 60-day ceasefire.
