Report: Ex-defense minister Gallant evacuated from his home last year due to security threat, has not yet returned

Former defense minister Yoav Gallant was evacuated from his home in Moshav Amikam in northern Israel last year due to a credible security threat, and has not been able to return home since, the Ynet news outlet reports.

The threat was identified shortly before Gallant was dismissed from his cabinet post by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last November, Ynet says.

The news outlet does not provide further information about the nature of the security threat, but notes that, as Gallant is still unable to return home, it would appear to still be an active threat.

The former defense minister has been living in a different moshav ever since, Ynet says, but his home in Amikam still receives round-the-clock security.
