We still think at least 20 hostages alive, Israel says after Trump claims lower number
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIsrael’s point man on hostages, Gal Hirsch, reportedly says there is no change in Israel’s assessment regarding the fate of those held in Gaza, after US President Donald Trump repeated the claim that there are likely fewer than 20 hostages still alive.
Hirsch told families of hostages that Israel still believes at least 20 hostages are alive, Viki Cohen, the mother of hostage soldier Nimrod Cohen, confirms to Channel 12 news.
Israeli officials have previously expressed worries for the fates of two hostages, and believe 28 others are dead.
