Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed in 2014 by undergoing a routine gastrointestinal check Wednesday morning, coming out with a clean bill of health.

Netanyahu was incapacitated for about an hour during the examination, transferring the reins of the country to Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman.

The checkup, carried out once every few years, was required for a yearly public report on the prime minister’s health, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

Netanyahu’s personal doctor said the prime minister is leading a clean, healthy lifestyle.

On Friday night, Netanyahu checked into the Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera with a sinus infection. There was no major threat to the prime minister’s health, and he was released home after a check two hours later.

In August, Netanyahu handed over power to Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon while undergoing an operation for an umbilical hernia.
