One dead, 1 seriously hurt in brawl outside Petah Tikva pub

A 27-year-old man died early Friday after being stabbed in a brawl outside a pub in Petah Tikva, police said.

The man’s 19-year-old brother was also stabbed, and was in serious condition at Beilinson Hospital, located around the corner from the site of the altercation.

The two victims, residents of Or Yehuda, were rushed to hospital by Magen David Adom rescue crews after sustaining stab wounds in their upper bodies.

According to initial reports, the two brothers, both known to police, were one side in a fight inside the “Jabotinsky” bar on Jabotinsky street, a main thoroughfare in the city located east of Tel Aviv.

The fight began at around 3 a.m., but soon moved to the street outside, where the brothers were stabbed.

Officers who were responding to a break-in call nearby rushed to the scene and arrested several youths suspected of involvement in the brawl.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the fight.
