CLEVELAND — An American Jewish executive claims that Donald Trump wondered whether a Jewish agent could get him a better deal during negotiations for his former reality TV show “The Apprentice.”
“Don’t you think I should get a Jewish agent, so he can negotiate better for me?” the presumptive GOP nominee asked, according to the unnamed executive who was present at talks between NBC and Trump about his show.
The Trump campaign declined to comment on the Times report.
This would not be the only time that Trump, whose daughter Ivanka converted to Judaism, has invoked stereotypes about Jews that are often deemed offensive and even anti-Semitic. Last year, he told the Republican Jewish Coalition that “I’m a negotiator like you folks were negotiators.”

He also told the audience of potential voters, “You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money.”
A former employee also once wrote that Trump, while running casinos in New Jersey in the early 1990s, said: “The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”
Ivanka Trump converted to Orthodox Judaism before she married Jared Kushner, who now serves as a close adviser to her father’s presidential campaign.
