French prosecutors said two men arrested for suspected links to a jihadist who killed a French police officer and his companion will be brought before an anti-terror court Saturday.
The men, aged 27 and 29, had been convicted with the killer, Larossi Abballa, in September 2013 as part of a network to send jihadists to Pakistan, judicial sources close to the investigation said.
The prosecutor said the court will decide whether there was sufficient evidence to open an official enquiry.
A third man arrested in the case has been released without charge.
Abballa, a convicted radical who had been under surveillance, murdered a French police couple in an IS-inspired stabbing, and then was killed himself in a police raid.

Monday’s assault in a small town northwest of Paris was the first deadly strike in France since the coordinated attacks in the capital by an Islamic State cell in November, which killed 130 people.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
