Cars torched in Arab village near Jerusalem alongside ‘Revenge’ graffiti

Several cars in Ein Rafa, an Arab village west of Jerusalem, were set alight and vandalized overnight, in what appears to be an ethnically motivated incident.

Vehicles were sprayed with black graffiti that read “Revenge” and “Price tag,” and several engines appear damaged after the car hoods were popped up. The license plates of several were torn off.

Footage of the damage shows a car that appears to have been burnt. It is one of three that were set on fire there overnight, the Kan public broadcaster reports.

According to the outlet, masked individuals were caught on security camera footage committing the acts, then fleeing.

Law enforcement bodies have launched an investigation to identify those involved, police say.

Last month, masked individuals were filmed setting cars on fire in the Jewish town of Giv’ot Bar, in what police suspect was revenge for law enforcement’s crackdown on Bedouin towns in the Negev.

In response, police launched a raid that is still ongoing on Tarabin al-Sana, a Bedouin village where the perpetrators are thought to reside, and blocked its entrances with concrete barriers.
