‘Ex-Blair assistant to be next UK envoy to Israel’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe next British ambassador to Israel will be David Quarrey, the most senior Foreign Office adviser on Middle East policy and formerly an assistant to Tony Blair.
On his appointment, Quarrey said “I am delighted to be appointed as British Ambassador to Israel. It is a great privilege to have this opportunity to deepen our already thriving economic, science and technology ties with Israel, cooperate against shared security threats and work for progress towards peace.”
A source quoted by the UK website Jewish News Online says that Quarrey has a “reputation for being fair and balanced when it comes to the Middle East.”
