Huckabee indicates Turkey won’t deploy troops in Gaza due to Israeli opposition
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleUS Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee suggests that it’s unlikely Turkish troops will be deployed in Gaza, given Israel’s opposition to the idea.
“I don’t think you’re going to see it if Israel has strong reservations about it… [and] Israel does have strong reservations,” Huckabee says in an interview with the Kan public broadcaster.
“As far as I can tell, there’s not going to be some willingness to say, ‘Sure, let the Turks come in, as long as Israel has the reservations they have,” the US envoy adds.
Huckabee is a close ally of US President Donald Trump, but it’s unclear the extent of influence he has over US policy in Gaza.
