IDF detains settlers attempting to cross into Syria from Mount Hermon

Troops detained several Israeli settler activists earlier today who attempted to cross the border into Syria from the Mount Hermon area, handing them over to police for further investigation, the IDF says.
The military strongly condemns the incident, calling it a “criminal offense” that endangers civilians and disrupts operational activity, and urges law enforcement authorities to “bring those involved to justice and to act decisively to curb the phenomenon.”
The activists, who call themselves the Bashan Pioneers, have attempted to enter Syria multiple times in the past year, including just yesterday, seeking to establish settlements in the area. They have received support from some lawmakers.
