Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli says that establishing settlements in northern Gaza should be part of the election platform of the Likud party.

Chikli makes his comments in a meeting with the heads of the Nachala organization, which promotes the establishment of settlements in the West Bank and Gaza and whose activists have illegally crossed into Gaza several times since the war with Hamas began following the terror group’s October 7, 2023, invasion and massacres.

“Settling the northern border area [of Gaza] should be a part of our election manifesto,” Chikli, a member of the Likud party, told Nachala co-chairs Daniella Weiss and Tzvi Elimelech Sharbaf, Nachala says in a statement.

According to Nachala, the meeting dealt with “advancing practical and political activity for Jewish settlement in the northern Gaza strip.”

Several cabinet ministers, including multiple Likud ministers, have expressed strong support for establishing settlements in Gaza since the war with Hamas broke out, and have done so repeatedly at Nachala rallies and conferences.
