A young man has been found lifeless in a forested area near Shfaram, police say, a day after a triple homicide rocked the northern Arab city.
The victim, Karam Suwaed, is a resident of the city. His killers recorded a video of themselves shooting him nine times as he lay sprawled on the ground, already dead.
They then sent the footage to his family members, according to Ynet.
Police began searching for Suwaed yesterday, after receiving a report of a missing man who left home that evening and did not return. After extensive searches in the area involving a helicopter, his body was found.
Early yesterday morning, three Arab Israeli men were gunned down in Shfaram, capping off a bloody first week of 2026, in which 11 people were killed in a violent crime wave continuing to beset Arab society.
In 2025, 252 Arab citizens lost their lives in crime-related killings, the deadliest year on record. With Suwaed’s death, the toll for this year now stands at 12.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
