One of the four journalists reported to have been killed in the Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis worked for Reuters, the news agency says, citing unnamed Palestinian health officials.
Cameraman Hussam al-Masri, a Reuters contractor, was killed in the first strike, according to the officials. Photographer Hatem Khaled, who was also a Reuters contractor, was wounded in a second strike, Reuters says.
Witnesses say the second strike on the hospital took place after rescue workers and journalists rushed to the site of the initial attack.
The Reuters live video feed from the hospital, which was operated by Masri, suddenly shut down at the moment of the initial strike, Reuters footage shows.
Health officials in Gaza name the three other journalists as Mariam Abu Dagga, Mohammed Salama and Moaz Abu Taha. A rescue worker was also among those killed, they add.
Salama was employed by Al Jazeera as a photojournalist and cameraman, the Qatar-based news network says.
The IDF has not yet commented on the strikes, which left at least 15 people dead, according to Palestinian reports.
