An Israeli man was carjacked by two Palestinians as he was driving in the West Bank city of Qalqilya on Monday, according to police.
He may have been taking his car to a garage in the city to get it fixed.
The man, who was said to be in his seventies, was taken to Meir Hospital in the Israeli city of Kfar Saba with light injuries. There was no word on the whereabouts of his vehicle.
In a statement, police issued a reminder that Israeli citizens are forbidden to enter Area A, and that it is also dangerous to go to Area B. Area A refers to parts of the West Bank where the Palestinian Authority has complete civil and security administration (including major cities such as Qalqilya), and Area B to areas where Palestinians have civil authority, but have joint security control with the IDF.
Qalqilya is situated near the security barrier, adjacent to Kfar Saba.
Over the past decade, several Israelis have been killed while visiting Palestinian cities, while others were arrested by PA police and turned over to Israel.
