Measles outbreak in NY’s Orthodox Rockland County
Epicenter at Spring Valley’s Hatzlacha Grocery Store
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleNEW YORK (JTA) — Public health officials discovered a case of measles at a kosher grocery store in the Orthodox community of Spring Valley, NY.
The Rockland County Health Department advised anybody who was at the store, Hatzlacha Grocery Store located at 80 West Spring St., between 1:30 and 4:30 P.M. on Wednesday to contact their doctor.
High-risk groups for measles include pregnant women, infants less than 6 months old, immuno-compromised individuals or anyone who has not been vaccinated against the disease.
Spring Valley is one of several densely populated Orthodox towns in the county, which is located approximately 45 minutes north of Manhattan.
