US President Joe Biden is holding an extended huddle with Prime Minister Yair Lapid, President Isaac Herzog, US Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides and Israeli Ambassador to the US Mike Herzog, along with IDF brass and other dignitaries, before climbing the stairs onto a waiting Air Force One.

Despite attempts to avoid contact, Biden has warm handshakes and embraces with several people as they chat at the foot of the staircar.

Not present is Alternate Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu, who took off earlier for London, is also not present for the short send-off.

Biden is set for a two-hour flight to Jeddah, becoming the first US leader to make the trip. George W. Bush flew direct to Riyadh in 2008.
