Deni Avdija named NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week

Deni Avdija, the Israeli forward enjoying a breakout season for the Portland Trail Blazers, is named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week.
It’s the latest accolade for Avdija, who last month was one of the top vote-getters in balloting ahead of the league’s All-Star Game in February.
The honor comes after a week when Avdija scored 34 points, then notched a triple-double, in consecutive games.

The NBA notes that Avdija averaged 26.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game over the past week.
Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
