Egypt condemns the Israeli strikes on Gaza, saying they were contrary to international law.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement says the strikes that killed three Islamic Jihad leaders and 10 others “are inconsistent with the rules of international law” and could fuel further violence.

Egypt has frequently acted as a mediator between Israel and the terror groups in Gaza.

Meanwhile, an Islamic Jihad source tells AFP that one of the killed men was part of a delegation from a group that had been due to travel to Cairo for a meeting Thursday, which had now been canceled.
