IDF confirms it is evacuating settler outpost in West Bank village

The military confirms that it has begun to evacuate a settler outpost established at the entrance to Palestinian homes in a West Bank village.

The IDF also says that soldiers filmed this week arriving at the structure erected by the settlers in the village of Qusra and praying with them, rather than removing them, will face disciplinary action.

Senior military officials, including Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, also met this morning with the Palestinian family that has been under siege by settlers in Qusra for several days.

According to the IDF, the settler outpost outside the Palestinian homes was established in Area B of the West Bank, and a closed military zone order was issued for the area.

“Border Police forces evacuated the canopy and are working to evacuate the civilians who were staying there. The incident is ongoing at this time, and security forces are on the ground,” the army says.

Bluth, West Bank division chief Brig. Gen. Kobi Heller, and commander of the Border Police’s West Bank division Assistant Commissioner Niso Guetta also toured several nearby settler outposts this morning.

“During the tour, the commanders addressed seriously the actions carried out by Israeli civilians against the Palestinian family, and ordered a number of steps going forward,” the army says, without detailing them.

“It was also decided to take disciplinary action against the force involved that was documented at the site several days ago,” the military adds, referring to the footage of the troops praying alongside the settlers.
