Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar condemns the “appalling” assault on a 32-year-old Jewish man in Montreal yesterday and calls on Canada to “fight antisemitism” more effectively
“This is appalling,” Sa’ar writes on X, describing a video of the incident — in which the assailant beats the Jewish man as he holds on to his two young daughters — as “shocking and stomach-turning.”

Montreal Police are currently investigating the matter, which occurred in the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension.
Earlier today, police said the reason for the assault was not yet known, and that the man, who was wearing ultra-Orthodox attire, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
