Environment Minister Tamar Zandberg says she will be taking a break from political life and not running in the next election.

Zandberg, a lawmaker from Meretz who previously headed the party, says she is taking a break in order to “make room for others.”

Current Meretz chief Nitzan Horowitz announced recently that he will not run for reelection as the party head in its leadership primary but will work to remain an MK. Currently, the only candidate for the Meretz primary is MK Yair Golan.
