PA slams Israel for Gaza strikes, calls on international community to intervene

The Palestinian Authority slams the Israeli strikes against Islamic Jihad, saying Israel will be responsible for any escalation in the region.
A statement from the PA Foreign Ministry says it holds the “Israeli government fully and directly responsible for this aggression and its consequences on the conflict arena,” and says it is “a dangerous escalation that threatens to engulf the region completely.”
The ministry also calls on the international community to “urgently intervene to stop the aggression against our people.”
“A negotiated political solution to the conflict is the only way to achieve security and stability,” the PA says.
