Woman shot after allegedly opening fire at West Bank checkpoint

A woman armed with what appears to be a gun has been shot at a checkpoint in the southern West Bank, according to medics.
The Rescuers Without Borders emergency service says the woman opened fire at the checkpoint near the settlement of Beit Yatir with a makeshift firearm or airsoft gun.
The service says there are no other injuries at the scene.
An image shows the woman lying on the ground after being shot by Israeli forces, with a gun next to her.
The Israel Defense Forces does not immediately comment on the incident.
