Reports: Israel to scrap NIS 10,000 deposit demand for Ukrainian refugees

Israel’s controversial demand that Ukrainian refugees deposit NIS 10,000 ($3,000) upon arrival in the country — to ensure they eventually leave — is set to be scrapped, according to Hebrew media reports.

The new policy has been reported by Channel 12 and Haaretz.

Haaretz says a quota will be introduced for the number of Ukrainian refugees who do not have the right to immigrate.
