UN envoy condemns ‘unacceptable’ killing of civilians in Gaza strike
UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland condemns the “unacceptable” killing of civilians in Israeli strikes in Gaza overnight.
Wennesland notes that in addition to the three Islamic Jihad leaders targeted, the strikes also killed “a doctor, five women and four children.”
“I condemn the deaths of civilians in the Israeli airstrikes. This is unacceptable,” he says.
Israeli airstrikes in #Gaza this morning resulted in killing 13 Palestinians – 3 PIJ members, 5 women & 4 children. I condemn the deaths of civilians.
Urge all concerned to exercise restraint. I remain fully engaged in an attempt to avoid a broader conflict.
