Two people were killed Sunday after they were hit by a passing truck on the side of the road, likely while repairing their vehicle along Route 22 in the Krayot area near Haifa in northern Israel.
Medics called to the scene near the Bialik Interchange found the man and woman, in their 50s, without vital signs and suffering multiple wounds, the Magen David Adom ambulance service said in a statement.
Medics declared the two dead at the scene.
According to the statement, the victims appeared to have pulled over to repair their car when the truck struck them.
Police said traffic investigators arrived on the scene to investigate the incident, and the truck driver was taken for questioning.
