Ongoing demonstrations in East Jerusalem and the West Bank have produced a slew of photographs showing masked Palestinian protesters in clashes with IDF troops.
But one particular photo has caught the attention of Facebook and Twitter users, drawing surprise and smiles across social media.
The image, snapped by an AFP photographer, shows a Palestinian youth wearing a campaign t-shirt for Culture Minister Miri Regev as he prepares for clashes with Israeli soldiers outside Ramallah.
The shirt said, “We love you Miri Regev” under the number 134 — Regev’s number on the balloting slip for the Likud party primary ahead of the Knesset elections in March.

The protester, who is wearing a kafieh headscarf tied around his face, is presumably unaware his garb comes from the campaign for the colorful right-wing politician.

In another image, the same man could be seen wheeling a flaming tire.
The photo was picked up by Israeli social media users who responded with both bemusement and ridicule.
