US President Donald Trump is notorious for his off-the-cuff comments and tweets, which have produced quite a few eccentric moments and “alternative facts.”
But as he geared up to give his first speech to both houses of Congress on Tuesday, he appeared determined to stick to the script.
Trump’s speech was printed out and he was captured on video dutifully rehearing his lines and even his facial expressions on the way to Capitol Hill.
As rain lashed his black limousine, Trump could be seen holding his speech while mouthing the words and practicing gestures.
In the end, Trump’s speech to lawmakers, which he opened with a condemnation of anti-Semitism, was measured and on script and went off without a hitch.
