Active shooting reported in Montreal in area with Jewish presence; motive unclear
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleCanadian media reports an active shooting in the Côte-des-Neiges area of Montreal, with at least one police officer injured.
The area is home to Jewish sites, including a Chabad House and a kosher restaurant, but the target and the motive are not initially clear.
Authorities have issued an emergency alert, saying the suspect is armed and dangerous and urging residents to stay home and avoid the area near De Courtrai and Trans Island Avenues.
