IDF says it targeted terrorist in Gaza strike that also reportedly killed a schoolgirl, regrets harm to civilians

The IDF reacts to reports by Hamas-affiliated media outlets in Gaza that an 18-year-old high school student, Rarad Ashour, was killed in a strike while on a street in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, and that several other people were wounded.

Responding to an inquiry from The Times of Israel, the IDF says: “The IDF struck a terrorist in Hamas’s military wing while he was traveling in a vehicle in the Gaza City area. The claim that an uninvolved civilian was harmed as a result of the strike is known. The IDF regrets any harm to uninvolved civilians and operates, whenever possible, to minimize such harm.”
