Outrage after reporter on right-wing network laments lack of casualties in strike on Arab Israeli town

A reporter from the right-wing Channel 20 who was covering today’s rocket fire from Lebanon that landed in an empty soccer field in an Arab town says on air, “Unfortunately it did not lead to a lot of deaths.”

The remark from military correspondent Kobe Finkler sparks outrage, with Meretz MK Mossi Raz demanding that the reporter be fired.

“Imagine if Furat Nassar (Channel 12) or Ali Mugrabi (Channel 13) or Suleiman Maswada (Channel 11) had said something like that?” tweeted Joint List MK Ahmad Tibi.

The network issues a statement, saying Finkler had apologized for the comment and panned those using the “human mistake” to attack the network.
