Revelers sing, dance in Muslim Quarter on Jerusalem Day march

A large number of religious students pass through the Old City of Jerusalem’s Muslim Quarter, singing “Am Yisrael Chai,” “Jerusalem of Gold,” and other religious and national songs, as part of the annual Jerusalem Day parade.

The vast majority of revelers dance and sing as they move through the Arab area, some antagonizing the local residents and journalists, yelling at them or blocking their cameras. Some are escorted out by police.

A handful wear stickers that call for the transfer of Arab citizens from Israel or express support to the extremist Rabbi Meir Kahane.
