US drone kills IS deputy head in Afghanistan

Six people are killed in an attack by a US drone in Afghanistan, one of whom was a senior commander in Islamic State, Israel Radio reports.

The group was traveling in a vehicle loaded with ammunition. When the car was hit it detonated, killing everyone inside.

The man, Mulla Abdul Rauf, was held in Guantanamo in the past. He was a Taliban member who defected and joined IS, where he was appointed deputy commander of IS in the Khorasan region – the Islamic State’s name for Afghanistan.
