A man riding an electric bicycle was killed Tuesday in a collision with a truck on Route 40 in the central region, adding to what was already a significantly deadly year on the roads compared to 2020.
Paramedics from the Magen David Adom emergency service, who were called to the Hatayasim Junction where the crash happened, said they found the man, in his 20s, lying at the side of the road with multiple serious injuries and no vital signs.
They pronounced him dead at the scene.
On Monday a man, 44, was moderately injured in Ramat Hasharon when he was hit by a car as he rode an electric bicycle.
The day before, a 74-year-old man was also moderately injured on an electric bike when a motorbike collided with him near the Dov Hoz Interchange in Bat Yam.
