Truck driver accused of molesting campers charged with trespassing

Convicted child molester Yoel Oberlander was caught on camera entering bunks for seventh-and eighth-graders at NY’s Camp Shalva

JTA — A truck driver who was accused of molesting several campers at a summer camp for Chasidic boys was charged with trespassing.

An investigation determined that there was “no allegation of sexual abuse” against Yoel Oberlander, 31, a convicted molester and registered sex offender, according to the New York Post.

Oberlander, of Monsey, New York, was arrested Aug. 16 and charged with criminal trespass in Fallsburg Town Court. Eventually he was released on $5,500 bail; no trial date was set. Oberlander was prohibited from returning to Camp Shalva, near South Fallsburg, N.Y.

Oberlander was caught on camera entering bunks for seventh-and eighth-graders at the camp early on Aug. 8 while he was there delivering kosher milk.

In 2002, he pleaded guilty to molesting an 11-year-old girl and was sentenced to six years of probation.
