Assailants throw rocks at Israeli bus in West Bank
No injuries in attack near the settlement of Shiloh, which police initially described as a shooting

An Israeli bus was attacked with rocks in the West Bank on Monday evening. Police initially said the incident was a shooting attack.
No one was injured in the attack, which occurred on highway 60, near the settlement of Shiloh, north of Jerusalem.
The bus continued to its destination, the city of Ariel, as security forces swept the area for the assailants.
The incident occurred hours after a female Palestinian armed with a knife lightly injured a man at the Gush Etzion junction, south of Jerusalem.

Twenty-two-year-old Amal Taqatqa was shot by soldiers at the scene and was brought to Hadassah-Ein Kerem hospital in serious condition. The Palestinian Ma’an news site said she was affiliated with the Fatah movement.
The Israeli victim was identified as Yehoshua Lorch.
In 2011, Taqatqa reportedly tried to stab a soldier at the same location. Her family said at the time that she was mentally disabled.
A video from the scene of the stabbing showed Israeli soldiers from the Kfir infantry brigade firing toward a dark figure lying on the ground dozens of meters away, possibly the attacker.
Photos from the scene showed a wood-handled steak knife apparently used as the attack weapon.
Security forces found another knife on the attacker’s person.
Taqatqa’s father was arrested, according to Ma’an, and clashes between Israeli forces and residents broke out in the nearby town of Beit Fajjar, where the Taqatqas live.
The attack was near the site of a number of a previous terror attacks over recent months. The IDF recently bolstered its presence at the busy junction in the wake of the assaults.
