A well-known Chinese film production company will shoot a number of scenes for the full-length feature film “Old Cinderella” in Israel next month.
The company announced that 15 minutes of the film will be shot in various Israeli hot spots — including Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.
Members of the production team and cast will arrive in Israel on April 16 for a week’s worth of filming.
The Tourism Ministry reported that it would invest NIS 300,000 to promote the movie, in hopes that the blockbuster’s Israel scenes will influence potential Chinese tourists to choose the Holy Land as their next destination for a vacation.
China is a major source of world tourism, with an increase of 20% in outgoing tourism between 2010 and 2011.
According to the Tourism Ministry, some 20,000 Chinese tourists have visited Israel in the past two years.
