Female teacher admits to ‘affair’ with 15-year-old student

A teacher from the south of Israel was accused by her husband of having an affair with a 15-year-old student, and becoming pregnant from him. She, in turn, accused her husband of raping her.

The teacher, in her 30s, was arrested Tuesday after her husband told the police of the relationship and her pregnancy. She was interrogated and released to five days of house arrest.

On Wednesday the husband was called in for questioning after the wife accused him of raping her several times and of being violent toward her. He was also released to house arrest for five days. According to media reports, The teacher also complained to the police of domestic abuse two years ago.

The husband claims he only discovered the affair when his wife disclosed to him that she was three months pregnant. He told Channel 2 that “she confided in me that she had been conducting an affair with her student… and that it appears that he is the father.”

Media reports also said that the woman, who teaches seventh and eighth grade, has admitted to having sex with her student, although she claims it only happened once. The student also told it was a one-time event. He claimed to know nothing of the pregnancy.

The teacher also reportedly admitted the affair to her husband, saying, “A moment of foolishness, of blindness, brought me to this state. A moment of stupidity. I’m trying to find an explanation but I can’t.

“I remember the moments of happiness. What caused everything to turn upside down? I’m trying to find something negative. Everything is stupid compared to goodness that you offer me. I have a hole in my heart. What have I done? How did I waste the chance to enjoy life together with you?” she wrote in a letter to him obtained by Channel 10.

In a recording obtained by Channel 2, the teacher could be heard speaking on the phone to a relative a few days after she became pregnant. “How am I supposed to feel? The romance lasted for three months before the pregnancy. Since I became pregnant I have not spoken to him,” she said.

The pregnancy was terminated before the incident was reported to the police.

The husband was outraged at how open and brazen his wife was about the affair.

“It broke my heart, as a man, as a husband. The thing that destroyed me completely was when she told me that (she and the student) would pick up (our son) from kindergarten together,” he told Channel 2. “They would come to our house. They would go to public parks together. Nobody suspected anything and so she had no fear.”
