Israeli security services last month arrested a Palestinian who was in the midst of planning a terror attack near Nablus, officials revealed on Wednesday.
The man, Amir Baracat, was released from jail as part of the 2011 prisoner exchange for Gilad Shalit, Israel Radio reported.
Under the deal, Israel released over 1,000 convicted Palestinians in return for the soldier, who had been in Hamas captivity for more than five years.
Barakat confessed that while in Mecca he had met with another man released in the swap, and accepted an offer to either throw a grenade at soldiers or shoot civilians in return for a $60,000 payment, the report said.
